  • Arrival at Rancho Boyeros Airport after 3:00 pm. He was welcomed by Raúl Castro.
  • Cheers of a large crowd as he rode along Rancho Boyeros Avenue on a convertible jeep, accompanied by Raúl Castro, Camilo Cienfuegos,
  • Ernesto Che Guevara, Juan Almeida, Ramiro Valdés and Efigenio Ameijeiras.
  • Speech delivered at a large welcoming demonstration at the Civic Square where he said: “It is when you leave your homeland and see what happens in other parts of our continent, that you feel satisfied with our people’s work.”
