Mozambique Honors Work by Cuban Literacy Teachers

The work carried out by 13 Cuban collaborators in the Mozambican education sector has contributed to a reduction of the illiteracy rate in the African country, said an educational source in this capital.

The National Director of Adult Education, Nhacume Laurino, said at the farewell ceremony for the Cuban collaborators that these literacy consultants worked with dedication for the last three years in the country's 11 provinces.

Deputy Education Minister Francisco Itai Megue commended the work carried out by those Cuban collaborators, who he said had left their mark on the history of education in Mozambique.

Cooperation with the African country will continue, with follow-up ready and waiting, said Cuban ambassador to Mozambique Aristides Rafael Jimeno, in his speech at the ceremony.
